Obama is now proposing another minor change to America. He wants to raise business taxes - hardly a surprise. The AP decided to write an article on the subject entitled, "Obama to crack down on business taxes." This sounds like a reasonable title until one reads the third to last paragraph:
Obama also planned to ask Congress to crack down on tax havens and implement a major shift in the way courts view guilt. Under Obama's proposal, Americans would have to prove they were not breaking U.S. tax laws by sending money to banks that don't cooperate with tax officials. It essentially would reverse the long-held assumption of innocence in U.S. courts.
It seems to me that the reversal of the "long-held assumption of innocence" is perhaps a somewhat important concept. In fact, it is the MAJOR news item in the story. In fact, this issue, which was given one paragraph, should have been the focus of the story, which should be on page one of every newspaper! Instead, most people won't even see it thanks to our media.
